About Us

Nurses have always adapted to new technology.
This time, we're leading it.

AI & Nursing exists to make sure the largest workforce in healthcare isn't the last one prepared for the biggest technology shift of our careers.

Our Story

We've watched technology get handed to nurses without their input.
We built this so it stops happening.

Every generation of healthcare technology gets designed, purchased, and deployed with nurses as an afterthought. Scheduling systems. EHRs. Now AI. The pattern is always the same: decisions get made in rooms nurses aren't in, and the consequences land on the people doing the work.

We've spent our careers on both sides — at the bedside, and inside the companies building the technology. AI & Nursing brings those two worlds together: education built by people who understand the clinical reality and the technology, taught in plain language, grounded in what nurses actually face.

Who We Are

Led by two nurses who've built in this space.

Rebecca Love
RN, MSN, FIEL

Rebecca is one of the most recognized voices in nursing innovation worldwide. She was the first nurse ever featured on TED.com, co-founded the Society of Nurse Scientists, Innovators, Entrepreneurs & Leaders (SONSIEL), and has spent her career at the intersection of nursing and emerging technology.

She has worked inside the companies now shaping healthcare AI — giving her direct insight into where this technology is going and what nurses need to navigate it. She advises health systems, startups, and national organizations on nursing innovation, and speaks internationally on the future of the profession.

Zach Smith
BSN, RN

Zach was a founding member of NurseGrid, the most-downloaded nurse app in history and one of the fastest-growing nurse-built companies ever, where he rose from bedside RN to Acting President & COO before its acquisition by HealthStream. He is now CEO of GownCard, an AI-powered platform for hospital operating rooms deployed at leading academic medical centers including Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He has spent over a decade translating between clinical teams and technology companies, with deep expertise in how nurses adopt — and resist — new tools, and what it takes to build technology that actually works in clinical environments.

Our Network

Connected to the people building healthcare AI.

Our courses aren't taught from the outside looking in. We work alongside — and bring into our sessions — the nurse executives and leaders at the organizations shaping healthcare AI right now.
